The brain is the most complex structure and arguably the most powerful tool known to man. Humankind is only beginning to understand how it works, how we can mimic it, and ultimately fix and enhance it.
CruX is a student-led organization at the University of California, Los Angeles that strives to raise awareness and interest in the emerging neurotechnology industry as well as provide undergraduates with opportunities to foster and develop essential skills to advance this complex field.
We aim to accomplish this through neurophysics laboratory work, BCI projects, neurotech events and more.
Meet The Team
Laila is a fourth year neuroscience major who loves pouring her heart and soul into passion projects that create hope and inspire others to live to their fullest potential. Intrigued with the intersection of neuro and technology and the consequential visions of what one day might be, she entered the neurotech world excited to rise to any challenge. She joined Crux last year as the External Outreach Head and worked to establish Crux's presence on campus and reach out to create collaborations with the neuro department, SKY @ UCLA, and NUS. This year as President, she hopes to welcome students from all backgrounds into the exciting world of neurotech and combine creativity, vision, and technical aptitude to create a project that will continue to push neurotech at UCLA into the future. In her free time, she also enjoys dancing, hiking, and everything outdoorsy. She thanks everyone for their continuous commitment and wholehearted investment into making Crux more beautiful each and every quarter and looks forward to an amazing year!
